Projects

Comfort is a conceptual casual clothing brand I developed for a brand identity project, inspired by my love for cozy, relaxed fashion. The name reflects the essence of the brand, which I visually represented through a pillow fort theme. Rounded rectangles surrounding the word “fort” mimic the soft, inviting structure of pillows, reinforcing the brand’s focus on comfort and warmth.

The name "Joule" immediately brought to mind the concept of energy, which inspired the visual direction of the design. While I initially considered using a lightning bolt to symbolize energy, I ultimately chose a sun for its more natural and organic representation. Given that the company focuses on nutritious, organic products, I felt it was important to incorporate elements of nature into the branding. This led to the addition of a tree, reinforcing the connection to health, sustainability, and the environment.

My passion for drawing perspective and nature began in elementary school art class and has remained a consistent theme throughout my creative journey. Over the years, I’ve developed a collection of sketches that explore these elements. For this project, I pushed my illustration skills further by experimenting with various Adobe brushes and symbols, resulting in a more detailed and expressive piece than I’ve created before.

One of my most meaningful projects is Korean Inks, inspired by my deep appreciation for Korean culture. Choosing this theme allowed me to combine personal interest with artistic expression, using ink, my favorite medium, to explore traditional aesthetics. This project also holds sentimental value, as one of my mother’s favorite pieces of mine is an ink drawing, making the experience even more rewarding.

Recurring themes in my work include rain and teacups, symbols of comfort and calm. For years, I’ve sketched teacups in the margins of my notes and illustrated rainy windows, inspired by the soothing sound and scent of rain. These elements reflect my desire to create peaceful, emotionally resonant visuals that evoke warmth and tranquility.

This illustration combines two personal passions, music and the color purple, into a clean, expressive design. It captures both the experience of listening and performing through symbolic elements like a vinyl record and microphone. Rounded forms throughout the composition, including the record, mic stand base, and curved typography, create a cohesive and rhythmic visual flow.

"Spring Day" is a song by my favorite music group, and its music video features a tree that holds deep symbolic meaning. Inspired by this imagery, I incorporated a tree into my design to reflect the song’s message: that spring will inevitably arrive, no matter how long or harsh the winter. The tree serves as a visual metaphor for hope, renewal, and resilience, core themes that resonate throughout the piece.
